The Speyside Way is on our door step with aproximately 60 miles of easy walking or cycling. It follows The River Spey which is renowned for salmon fishing, canoeing and other sports.
There are also mountain bike trails, golf courses, ski resorts, water sport facilities, castles, Elgin cathedral, Pluscarden Abbey, and there is Knockando historic working woolmill to visit nearby.
There is a choice of hills to climb too, and don’t forget there are about 50 whisky Distilleries in and around Speyside with many open for visitors.
Take a short drive or walk 4 miles on the Speyside way to Aberlour which offers a variety of shops, places to eat and drink as well as takeaway food.
There is a sport centre / gym / swimming pool and two beautiful churches in Aberlour.
The Moray coast is also within easy reach by car where you can explore the beautiful beaches and watch the dolphins or spend some time visiting the historic fishing villages.
Elgin, the main town in Moray, is about 20 miles from our Cottage and offers rail links to Aberdeen, Inverness, and beyond.
Aberdeen and Inverness Airports are both about one hour drive from our Cottage.
